Pierre Frey | Arty – Multicolore

Arty began, as the house tells it, with a gallery in the 11th arrondissement of Paris, an artist, and love at first sight. Marie-Cécile Aptel's abstract works — large shapes drawn with brush or pastels — are here printed onto a cut pile, pushing the possibilities of rug printing to their limit. The result carries the emotion of the original canvases onto the floor, gesture intact, at a scale the studio would recognise.
