Ascain is drawn from a Pierre Frey archive: a small jacquard pattern, made for in-outdoor use and finished water- and stain-repellent, that evokes braiding rendered in an ikaté manner. The volume comes from subtle contrasts in the thread crossings; the jaspered warp and the complexity of the weave are the signature of the workshops in northern France.
