Pierre Frey | Au Jardin – Celeste

Au Jardin is an embroidery that subtly and delicately evokes bouquets of fruits and flowers, inspired by a block-printed canvas produced in eighteenth-century France and preserved in the Maison's patrimonial collection. The needle gives the old drawing a new dimension: stems and blossoms raised gently from the ground, catching light along every stitch. It is garden ornament of the most civilised kind — historical in source, fresh in execution.
