Bain de Soleil reinterprets, from a document in the archives of Maison Pierre Frey, the striped canvas that transatlantic crossings made indispensable — the cloth of deck chairs and sea air. Its cheerful colouration is achieved by striped warping, the effect echoing light diffracted into rays. It is a holiday of a fabric with proper archival manners: nostalgic in reference, crisp and technical in construction.
