Baker is a hand-tufted rug in the spirit of the Bauhaus, inspired by a geometric Art Deco sample of 1923–1936 kept in the Maison's Heritage Department. Cut pile, loop pile and tip shearing intermingle to compose the graphic pattern, so the geometry is built as much in texture as in line. A modernist document reissued underfoot, with the workshop's full vocabulary brought to bear.
