Balmoral is a special colouring, re-edited by the house, of a print made by Le Manach since 1903. It reproduces a toile de Jouy named 'Water Lilies', printed at the Oberkampf factory around 1795: flowers scattered inside diamond-shaped ribbons, set in staggered rows on a ground of small leaves worked in reverse print. Two centuries of printing history sit in this cloth — Oberkampf's drawing, Le Manach's tradition, Pierre Frey's edition — and the pattern carries it lightly.
