Pierre Frey | Billie

Billie is a textured wool plain woven in Pierre Frey's own mill in northern France, one of the workshops awarded France's EPV Living Heritage label. The warp is heathered and the weft deliberately irregular, which gives a plain cloth the depth you would normally only find in a tweed. It is heavy, at 792 g per metre, soft in the hand, and at 20,000 rubs it suits everyday domestic upholstery, headboards and cushions. With sixteen colourways running from chalk and oatmeal through cinnamon, olive and teal to a deep prune, it works as the quiet ground in a scheme where the pattern sits elsewhere.
