Bois Dormant illustrates an enchanted forest where oaks, groves and roses in blossom gather into a dreamlike landscape. This wide-width print was inspired by a nineteenth-century gouache on paper preserved in the Maison's heritage collection — a document that already spoke of a taste for greenery. The width lets the forest run uninterrupted around a room, the wall opening onto woodland that never quite existed.
