Chatsworth is a hand screen print on a cotton ground, built up through separate colour passes — a slow method that leaves the drawing softer at its edges than any machine could manage. The cloth is light and unfussy, closer to a good dress cotton than an upholstery weight, which suits curtains and loose covers rather than hard-wearing seating. Its straight repeat runs a little wider than it is tall, so the pattern reads calmly across a drop.
