Cherry Kawasaki is japonaiserie revisited: a composition created to dress the bedroom walls of the daughter of Alexandre de Betak — art director, producer, scenographer, designer. Traditional Japanese inspiration meets a collage of selected images and surreal elements, staged in the manner of Hiroshige and Hokusai, the great Edo painters of the nineteenth century. It is a theatrical inheritance made domestic: scenography for a room, with impeccable references.
