Pierre Frey | Chevrons

Chevrons revives a pattern reminiscent of the motifs fashionable in men's costume at the end of the sixteenth century, under Spanish influence — geometry with a courtier's swagger. The zigzag carries that sartorial history lightly: what once sharpened a doublet now structures a sofa. It is ornament from the wardrobe of another age, and it has lost none of its cut.
