Chinoiserie presents Chinese scenes held in medallions, inspired by the chinoiseries drawn by Jean Pillement in the eighteenth century. It is traditionally hand screen printed in France on a timeless cotton percale, and the technique matters: the hand printing keeps the drawing's delicacy and gives the scenes their subtle depth. Pillement's fantasy of the East, renewed with the patience the original deserved.
