Coromandel Broderie embroiders on linen a very beautiful Persian motif taken from a famous drawing in the Pierre Frey collection. The original is a production of Jouy, printed from a wooden block around 1790 and inspired by the Indiennes then captivating Europe. The needle gives the two-century-old drawing a new dimension — raised, textured, catching light along every stem — while the linen keeps its feet on the ground.
