Darya is a bemberg velvet striped vertically and irregularly in several colours, and the stripes are distinguished as much by construction as by tone — looped pile set against cut pile, so each band takes light differently. That interplay is what keeps a multicoloured stripe from becoming loud: the eye reads texture first and colour second.
