Djedefre is a border design drawn from the collections of the Swiss Egyptologist Gustave Jequier, and offered as a tribute to how modern Pharaonic decoration can look — the geometry of it, stripped of narrative, sits comfortably beside twentieth-century design. It is hand-tufted in New Zealand wool. As a border it defines a floor rather than filling it, which suits a room that already has enough going on.
