Duke Soie is hand-knotted in Nepal in the traditional way, playing geometric patterns against one another through different heights of pile in wool and silk. The silk catches light where the wool absorbs it, so the geometry reads twice: once as drawing, once as relief underfoot. A rug of quiet construction and considerable depth, made slowly and meant to last accordingly.
