Eugenie reproduces a gouached rug drawing made by the designers of the Braquenié manufactory during the Second Empire, the original still preserved in the house's heritage collection. It is worked in hand-tuft, with randomly shaved wool and bamboo loops that set up a vibration across the surface — a deliberate echo of the irregularity of the original painting. Document and craft, faithfully reunited.
