Fanfare takes the Hungarian stitch and reinvents it as an embroidery — freely, and with a graphic confidence that makes the traditional zigzag feel newly made. The stitching gives the design relief, so the chevrons rise off the ground and cast a slight shadow. Pierre Frey offers it as an ode to creation and to colour, and the exuberance is genuine rather than claimed.
