Flag comes from a Pierre Frey archive of the 1930s, and it does something characteristic of that moment: it takes a tile pattern and lets it undulate, so a rigid grid acquires a wave. Modernist in its graphic confidence, and woven as a Toile de Tours rather than printed, which gives the curves a slightly soft edge. Small enough in repeat to work on a chair without the drawing being lost.
