Fujin is a large geometric design, hand-knotted in the traditional way in wool and silk. The scale gives the geometry its authority; the silk gives it light, glinting against the wool ground as one moves around the rug. It is bold drawing executed slowly — thousands of knots in service of a few emphatic lines.
