Gobi takes the traditional kilim and reinterprets it beautifully in embroidery, the flat-woven geometry of the original rendered stitch by patient stitch. What was once underfoot becomes needlework: the motifs keep their nomadic character while gaining the relief and intimacy of thread. It is a travelled pattern, translated with evident respect for where it has been and what it carried.
