Grands Croisillons takes the elegance of the harlequin motif and restates it in a pared-back, contemporary register. The diamonds keep their theatrical ancestry — commedia by way of the drawing room — but the treatment is disciplined, graphic and modern. It is fancy dress for furniture that has learnt restraint, and is the better company for it.
