Hao is a free creation built on a play of textures, entirely hand-knotted in Nepal. Hemp loops and several different textures of wool cross and mingle across the surface, composing a joyful homage to Polynesian weaving. Because the interest lies in relief rather than pattern, the rug reads calmly from a distance and reveals its complexity underfoot and at close range, in the loops, the varied piles, and the crossing of one material into another.
