Ignazio is a magnificent architectural composition, open towards the sky, conceived as a tribute to the painted ceilings of Andrea Pozzo. It is entirely hand-knotted in Nepal using traditional methods, with a wool pile from the Himalayas. There is a pleasing inversion at work: a design born of looking upwards, laid underfoot, the perspective and grandeur of a Baroque ceiling translated into knotted wool, where the drama softens into something liveable.
