Pierre Frey | Isfahan

Isfahan emerges from a collaboration between Le Manach and APPARATUS studio, translating the intricate geometry of traditional Iranian Khatam marquetry into contemporary textile form. The design interprets the ancestral craft's characteristic star motif, ordinarily achieved through thousands of inlaid wood, metal and camel bone elements, into a modernist aesthetic suited to fabric. The result honours the mathematical precision and layered complexity of its decorative heritage whilst presenting a distinctly contemporary visual language.
