Kalamkar is an eighteenth-century floral fabric originally created for the Indian market using printing on cotton. It is a true document pattern, carrying the density and stylisation of its period and trade, and the house has built a small family around it: a coordinating ground, Semi Kalamkar, and an embroidered version, Kalamkar Broderie. That makes it unusually easy to use at depth, the full design where it can be seen, its companions in support.
