Pierre Frey | Kerry

Kerry is a small herringbone woven in Ireland from Donegal yarn. Depending on the colourway the zigzag either comes forward or recedes into a warm semi-plain, which makes it the easiest of the Sequana II fabrics to use on a large piece: a sofa, a bed base, a pair of club chairs. It is rated to 35,000 rubs and cuts economically as a free match. Reinforce the seams when making up, as a tweed of this kind frays at a cut edge. Honey and Rose are soft and warm; Moss and Herbal Green are cooler and more earthy.

• Notes: Develops a patina with use. Reinforce seams to prevent fraying. Slight irregularities in the weave are characteristic.
