Kusi is a joyful stripe, traditionally woodblock printed on authentic raw silk. The technique is the point: woodblock printing leaves the slight variations and human timing that no rotary screen can imitate, and raw silk receives it with a natural, faintly slubbed lustre. The result is a stripe with a pulse, festive without being loud, and carrying in its surface the evidence of hands at work.
