La Valette is a very beautiful indienne, typical of the productions destined for Europe at the beginning of the eighteenth century, its pattern largely inspired by the lace decorations then in vogue. The original document, printed and painted, is kept in the Maison Pierre Frey heritage archives. It is a fabric about trade and fashion: Indian workshops interpreting European lace for European rooms, and the exchange still legible in every motif.
