L'Autruche du Carrousel announces that the Carrousel ostrich has escaped again. This radiant, majestic panel of three metres is entirely embroidered from head to foot on a sophisticated linen ground, and is taken from a watercolour archive painted by Maison Caspari. It is a set piece in the proper sense, a single embroidered subject rather than a repeat, made for the bold commission: a headboard, a framed panel, a curtain that behaves like a portrait.
