Le Bassin aux Nenuphars is a contemporary evocation of chateau garden ponds, their waters animated by carp and water lilies. The construction is genuinely innovative: printing on a fibrous, openwork non-woven laminated over a metallic foil, so the wall glimmers through the fibres exactly as light plays on the surface of water. Subject and technique describe the same thing, which is why the effect feels inevitable rather than clever.
