Le Grand Genois reproduces an Indian palempore — the tree-of-life panels that European interiors took up with such enthusiasm in the late seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Braquenié prints it on a satin-effect non-woven ground, at a scale that lets the branching composition rise the full height of a wall. Hortensia carries it in a soft blue-mauve. The design is also produced as a fabric, in a different colourway.
