Le Paravent Chinois is a reproduction of a screen owned by the celebrated American designer John Derian, its floral chinoiserie dating from the eighteenth century. The cracks and patinas of time have been retained within the drawing, the better to resemble the archive, and the design evokes the painted silks imported from China known as Pekins. Depending on the version, it is printed on a matt or an iridescent non-woven backing.
