Les Colonnes Broderie is an embroidered adaptation on silk satin of a famous Braquenie document, the Indo-Persian archways. The Columns reproduce a panel printed and painted in India during the eighteenth century, and the embroidery gives that architecture a new physicality, arches and pillars raised in stitch on a lustrous satin ground. It is archive scholarship pursued with needle and thread, and among the most precious readings of the document.
