Pierre Frey | Les Noix – Vert

Les Noix is a graphic variation on the form of a nut, a contemporary interpretation pushed toward abstraction. It is hand-tufted in a very thick, sparse New Zealand wool pile of the kind called shaggy, so the humble subject becomes a deep, informal surface that invites bare feet and low furniture. The abstraction earns its keep: what remains of the nut is rhythm and curve, read through the depth of the pile.
