Les Palmes d'Alma I is a majestic palm tree blooming with stars, as in a dream, decorated with the most delicate embroidery. The panel, entirely embroidered on linen, stands three metres high and forms a pair with Les Palmes d'Alma II, its night-time counterpart. The drawing was made by Alma, aged eleven, and ten per cent of profits go to the Fondation de France, supporting work to prevent school dropout. A child's dream, seriously made.
