Les Rivières de l'Indus draws its lineage from an eighteenth-century block-printed design originally produced by the Manufacture Royale d'Oberkampf around 1791. Known as a Chinese imbricated pattern, it comprises decorative motifs traditionally found adorning the base of Indian trees of life. Braquenié subsequently revived this design during the early twentieth century. The wallpaper is printed on premium non-woven backing, which allows the intricate details and rich chromatic depth of the pattern to emerge with notable clarity and presence.
