Lubin is a hand-knotted Nepalese rug conceived as a patchwork of animal hides. Against a leopard wool pile ground, two wild creatures engage in an animated dance across a desert landscape. The design draws inspiration from nature's raw textures and movement, presenting the characteristic depth and lustre that Nepalese craftsmanship brings to pile construction. The interplay between the figured beasts and their shadowed ground creates visual rhythm, whilst the animal-skin aesthetic lends an organic, almost anthropological character to this substantial floor piece.
