Sinuous flowering branches in the nineteenth-century manner, descended from the Indian trees of life of the century before. Drawn from an eighteenth-century palampore and woven as a jacquard in pure silk: large leaves and stylised flowers alternating along strong stems laid out as arabesques. The choice of silk is the point — it returns the design to the refinement of the originals.
