Maliha takes tartan and lets it off the lead: a free, graphic interpretation of the familiar grid, crafted entirely by hand. Flecked wool is mixed with synthetic silk, and the combination gives the generous relief a true vibration — the surface shifts as the light moves across it. It has the comfort of something recognisable and the interest of something redrawn, which is a difficult balance for a rug to strike.
