Malmo began as a rug design by the textile designer Elise Djo-Bourgeois in 1930, and its elegance is entirely structural: an interplay of geometric balance and interlocking forms, with nothing decorative added. Translated into a traditional Himalayan wool pile, the modernist drawing gains warmth without losing its rigour. It is the rare geometric rug that feels composed rather than repeated, and it anchors contemporary furniture particularly well.
