Malva is a seedling of cheerful flowers scattered across the width of an Axminster Fast-track weave. The design comes from the archives and is developed in two colourways, sitting as happily on a deep ground as on a pale one. Its practical virtues are real: woven in wide width, it is particularly suited to high-traffic areas and staircases, where a flowered field underfoot does a great deal to soften the architecture.
