Manaslu is a semi-plain with a small pattern, made in our Nepalese handmade quality: a ground of looped Himalayan wool crossed by lines of silk cut velvet. The interest is all in the meeting of the two materials — matt loop against the faint gleam of cut silk — so the pattern registers as a change of surface before it registers as a drawing. It is discreet, tactile and very easy to live with.
