Maroni is a stripe with unusual substance: printed with swelling ink and finished with a metallic colour applied in layers, on a textile backing that is itself striped. Stripe over stripe, relief over weave — the layering gives the wall a depth that a flat printed line cannot manage, and the metallic surface responds to every change of light. It is a tailored paper with a faint gleam, best appreciated in a room used after dark.
