Pierre Frey | Medaillons Bouquets - Rayure – Multicolore

This stripe is composed from two borders of an Indo-Persian panel that was very fashionable in the eighteenth century, kept in the heritage archives of Maison Pierre Frey. Borders were always the connoisseur's part of such panels — the place where the ornament is densest and most disciplined — and setting two of them side by side produces a stripe with unusual richness. It coordinates naturally with its parent document and works handsomely alone.
