Melbourne reproduces a modernist design imagined around 1932 by the textile designer Elise Djo-Bourgeois: a graphic tile pattern with the confident geometry of its decade. It is produced as a digital print on cotton, laminated onto a wide-width non-woven backing, so the wall carries a real textile surface beneath the drawing. The design has waited ninety years without dating — the reliable test of good modernism.
