A geometric jacquard reinterpreting a 1930 modernist design by the textile designer Elise Djo-Bourgeois, shown that year on the Djo-Bourgeois stand at the Salon des artistes décorateurs in Paris. The flat areas of colour are broken by a fine curly weft, so the texture reinforces the relief the composition already implies. Woven in Pierre Frey's workshops in northern France.
