Mortagne is a bucolic, rural scene evoking the landscapes of Normandy — the deep, unhurried countryside of hedgerow and pasture, set down at wall scale. It is semi-automatic screen printed on a textile laminated onto a wide-width non-woven backing, so the scene sits on real cloth and the printing keeps the character of the hand-pulled screen. A pastoral with proper craft behind it, and no sentimentality in front.
