Nur is a hand-knotted rug mixing graphic lines with gradations reminiscent of ikat weavings, drawing its inspiration from the drapery of Berber fabrics and the seventies imagery of the sun over American deserts. The mix of cut and loop textures underlines the artisanal character of Nepalese hand-knotting: the surface shifts between crop and loop as the design shifts between line and haze. Two landscapes, one warm and confident floor.
