Palais des Vents is a delicate embroidery on a beautiful satin linen, revisiting with poetry and softness a document of embroidered indiennes from the eighteenth century, kept in the Maison archives. The stitching honours its source: indienne flowers, once printed and stitched by hand, return as needlework with all their suppleness intact. The satin linen ground lends a gentle lustre, and the whole cloth carries its history lightly.
